Has anyone here tried the HF pocket hole jig # 96264 as yet? I saw one in their local store the other day and decided to try one....on sale for $49.99 down from the usual $69.00. I haven't actually used it on a real project as yet , but have made a couple of test cuts and joints using the jig on some scraps and it works surprisingly well so far! I recently purchased this scanner to check lumber prior to planing and am very pleased with its performance and quality. I realize its from China, but hey what isn,t nowadays. Overall its very sensitive and easily scans a width of 8 inches. I recently purchased the 24 inch Peachtree Pro Clamp and the Fence accessory for use on my bandsaws and shaper. This is a well built clamp of incredible stregth. In the one photo I,m actually lifting the shaper off the floor on 1 side with the clamp pressure alone. The fence is a very solid piece of aluminum thats attached to the Pro clamp via t-bolts and a slot on the clamp. I would highly recommend this as an alternative to other more expensive fences. The Harbor Freight 12" quick clamp/spreader looks like a great buy when on sale with coupon for $1.99, however, the main drawback with these units are that they fail when too much pressure is applied. The unit appears to be well made with a steel ratchet bar and a hard dense pvc for the handle. It has non marring pads for the jaws and works very smoothly. I broke the regulator off of my cheap coleman portable compressor over a year ago. Since I was unable to remove the remnants of the broken pipe with an easy-out, I wrote it off. Picked up a 4pk of basic chisels. By Irwin, labeled Marples on the package. Got them from PMenards on sale for $22. Got them home, handles are cheap plastic, blades very very dull. For $22, I'm not worried too much, but overall, very unimpressed. I will use them to split firewood I guess. I may try to sharpen then, but probably not. -
