- The “fixed” end of the threaded rod is attached to the fence, but the whole assembly is easily removed.
- The holes in the brackets (router fence side) are actually threaded - the dome nuts are just for appearance.
- The front wood mounting block is threaded, the rear (support) block just has a 1⁄4” hole.
- I’ve found I don’t need to have a fixed rule. The fence slides on thin UHMW feet, which provide enough clearance to slide the rule under the fence. When I need to move the fence, I just slip it under (butted against the 1⁄2” MDF base), and then remove it.
- Because of the UHMW slides, and because the fence is essentially “balanced”, it moves smoothly with virtually no “swing”, which means that I don’t need any guide bars.
