- There is no need to move the fence so every strip comes out exactly the same.
- It is incredibly easy to build
- It keeps your hands well away from the blade the whole time
- It keeps control of the strip you are ripping all the way through the cut and past the blade
- It doesn't interfere with the blade guard.
- You can cut strips from any length of stock
Once you the end of the stock clears the flag stop, rotate it down and the tab sticking out controls the strip through the rest of the cut and pushes it past the blade.
I made the jig 200mm wide so when I need a 5mm strip, I set my fence to 205 mm and I'm ready to go. I found this jig on youtube and made it from scraps in the shop, plus a leftover knob.
