Wow, I have no idea what to say. Monte was always pleasant and helpful, he will obviously be missed here. I agree with Loring, not that I'm close to that age, but this sort of thing certainly brings mortality to mind. I don't care for the notion that my forum friends won't be around forever.
My condolences to all...Keith Z. Leonard

Sorry to hear the terrible news. I have been a member of many forums, but this is the only one that I have stuck with. It is because of people like Monte that I kept coming back. He gave sound advice and always had a good word for people and their projects. My condolences.

It's hard to believe that a medium as inpersonal as the internet can foster such friendships between people. But, I really feel (like I'm sure that many other's of you do) that certain members on this site, become actual friends, people we can relate to, just by reading their posts and opinions. I believe Monte was one of these people, I feel like I know the man from his wonderful posts, and insightful help he has provided all of us. My heart hurts as I write this post, knowing that a friend has passed, Monte will be greatly missed.
My condolences to his family and friends, and to Monte, thank you for all the help and wonderful advice, even though we never met I would like to think of you as one of my woodworking mentors,

Terrible. It is amazing how the loss of someone that you have never actually met can upset a person. Kyle, my condolences to you and your family. Take pride in your relationship, never forget the lessons taught, and know that you as much fun as you had with him, he enjoyed your company that much more.

My prayers are with you and his family. I really didn't know him that well but he was a member of this forum and that's all I need to know. Death sucks, what can you say. May he rest in peace and God bless his family and you. Thanks so much for letting us know about this sad day and our loss.May you die and go to heaven before the Devil knows you're dead. Speechless...
That's about how I felt when I read this. I usually check to see what's going on my way to bed and didn't expect to see this. It really hit home. I didn't know the man personally, but know what we all share is the love of anything wood.
Did a search on his posts, went through all 13 pages since the new software and everyone of them is positive in nature.
Sorry to hear we've lost one of our own! Peace be with you.Last edited by JTimmons; 03-28-2006, 10:30 AM."Happiness is your dentist telling you it won't hurt and then having him catch his hand in the drill."
