I've had a good weekend but no big projects. Friday we were off and I changed the oil on the Zuk, helped the wife rearrange the junk in the garage for a major improvement, hauled all the "we don't need it" junk from the garage to the dump, got a recall done on the Zuk, and determined that the irrigation pump controller was bad and there was an extra outlet in the doghouse the pump is in (a significant find since we have no other outlet in the back). The outlet let me put the boat batteries on the charger (without pulling them). Saturday I first ordered a new controller for the pump from Amazon then found one I liked better at Lowe's for only $5 more. Amazon accepted the cancelation and the controller went on OK. It actually quit working but after I pulled it the silly thing started working again. It has a 6 year warranty so we'll see. We also went shopping for a dock box but decided we like one at Amazon better than what we can find locally. I need to order that. Today was church then steaks for lunch with wife and kids, then my son checked the brakes on the Zuk for me. I bought new shoes and pads but we didn't need them. Over 95K miles and most of the pads and shoes is still there. They probably have another 100K in them. I tow occasionally with it but the manual transmission helps a lot.

I need to take the pads/shoes back and figure out how I will spend the gift cards I got for Fathers day. I'm mostly taking the day off.

Saturday got a late start and only butchered 8 chickens. Then rode my bike to costco 44 miles and met the wife there. Today rode longer, over the mtn. twice 112.3 miles.

Mark, you're an animal! You must have been quite a site riding around with a huge pack of Charmin rolls

Most of my weekend was tied up running the concession operation for my local Lions Club at our small town's "Celebration in the Park." WE did manage to raise $550 for our club.

Sunday was spent doing some minor things and helping my step-daughter with her furniture refinishing projects and some tinkering around with my UTS. Just about ready to do the top section. Have the height issue almost resolved.

My kids wanted to take me to dinner for father's day...so I obliged.

All I managed was to re - rivet the door hinge on a friends camper shell. The original rivets failed and she had it held together with bailing wire...

Making slow progress on installing a 2.5 ton Mitsubishi mini-split heat pump in the shop. I'm doing the physical and electrical install myself but will have my A/C guy connect the copper line set , pull a vacuum and leak check... HOPING with his sign off the warranty will be valid. My recent experience with a water heater warranty leaves me s bit jaded.

It will be really nice to have A/C and Heat in the shop!

Bailing wire? I've not seen it in years. Around here they use twine. Still wire, duct tape and zip ties will fix almost everything.

Yeah, actual bailing wire. The feed store on Texas Highway 3 sells it. I have seen it used to tie up rebar via the help of a funky looking twister thing, Ace Hardware, Lowes, and Home Depot carry it as well...

I think she uses it to mend wire fences in her garden...

Folks from previous garage sale had another one. Selling everything that didn't sell the last time for about half.

You've done it Jussie, now your shop is full of wonderful tools, now you have to build chests to house them!

That's definitely on my to do list. Probably, my next project. I leaning towards this design by Mike Pekovich.

A little something other than woodworking this weekend. You see, about two months ago we lost our King Shepherd to old age.( https://flic.kr/p/n7BDge) She was thirteen and it was very hard to make the decision.

It's been hard to look for another dog and we haven't been looking very hard. This weekend we visited the Niagara Falls ( Ontario) Humane Society where we met Hanna. It was immediately apparent that we needed her as much as she need us. We went back today with our grown children and after some more visiting we signed the adoption papers. Now Hanna is settling in our home and we feel like our universe is balanced once again.
