    Another one bites the dust.

According to Stumpy Nubs, Triton tools is done. I have had a Triton 2.25hp router in my router table for over 20 years and it has performed flawless the entire time.

Triton was Rod Kirby's favorite. Didn't see them much in US stores - marketing issues?

    Triton was an Australian brand.
Was acquired by Timbecon Dec 2025
Don't know what that means for their product line.

After two years of making pens, I developed a severe allergy to CA (AKA Superglue) as CA is used as the finish of choice for many pen makers. It is almost instant, very clear, very hard and resistant to sweaty palms and humid shirt pockets. After developing the allergy, which caused sudden flu like symptoms for several days and even some blurred vision for me - I started looking for other finishes that took longer to cure but that didn't work for most situations.

Then (2008-09) I started looking at vented and air fed full helmet Respirators . I settled on the Triton at about $200 and still have it. Its one weakness was the rechargable batteries before the Lithium based ones came out. I had one extra battery set but after a couple of years both were dead. At the time the closest respirators to the Titan was at about $600. Now they are about $250-$300.

I used my Titan head set a few years ago to scare some of my grandkids close to Halloween. The Triton looked slight like the one below.

I hate to see Triton go under. I admired their tools and to me most of them were well thought out. I seriously considered one of their tables and their router that Loring has.

I never had a Triton router, Rod Kirby always proclaimed it was his favorite. I use Bosch 1617evs handheld, 1617 in the table, and PRO20 EVS for trim router primarily.

I do have two more routers but haven't used them for ages.

For some reason, I thought you (Loring) had a Triton router even though I knew you used Bosch.

Sad to read this. I have a Triton mounted in my router table. I have been happy with it since purchase. It has been a long time since I had a project requiring a table mounted router.
