Some BT3100 escaped the factory with the nut on the bottom of the elevation screw over tightened. You might try backing it off a half to one turn.

I am thinking the moral of this story is to always set a tube of superglue on a disposable impervious surface. A sheet of aluminum foil works.

JLPicard I had my share of problems early on with the shims. Actually replaced two sets. Around the turn of the century Ryobi customer service was noteworthy...Last edited by Black walnut; 02-14-2021, 01:00 PM.

Interesting method. Great use of a not normal material. Are the pins slightly smaller to allow for a glue gap?
