When Was The Last Power Tool You Purchased?

I was answering a tool question on another forum and it occurred to me that I haven't gotten a new woodworking tool in over 15 years. That's right, everything (including me) in my shop is old, but still working.

Last tool I bought was an electric chain saw from Harbor Freight about three years ago. I haven't found much time in the shop this last year and other than cleaning and maintenance out there I'm feeling somewhat deprived.

      I can't recall.
Oh, a spare C3 drill driver on eBay.
Before that, a corded drill to replace the one I have my son.
      replacement brad nailer.
Hammer drill for drilling brick masonry.
And a replacement shop vac for one that died.
      No stationary tools.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Last year I blew out my old Skil orbital sander. Bought a B&D that was VERY short lived, as in was able to return it to Walmart kind of short lived... Bought a Ryobi and been good. My old B&D angle grinder gave up the ghost about the same time, got a cheapie from Harbor Freight...

Long story but either the sander, or grinder. Everything else is older...

My last purchase was a contractor model SawStop that I tricked out with cast iron tops, router top and wings, T glide rip fence and router lift. That finished off my tool budget for 2021. I chose the contractor model as it was to replace my contractor model Powermatic 64 which already had a nice cabinet base.

Last power tool purchase for the shop for me was March 28, 2018 A shaper origin. For all power tools, it would be July 15 2021 a Ryobi 40v Edger

It works, but it arrived just as I was trying to finish up the old house for sale. Then spent a year in a townhouse and have been finishing the shop and other stuff in the new house since. I haven't had much time to spend with it so I can't review it yet. The wave 1 early adopter price was too good to pass up. $1200 vs the $2599 they are going for now. I think I'd paid for it 2 years to 18 months before it arrived.

I bought a Ryobi multi pack tool kit 2 years ago and then a Ryobi cordless multitool and a router a few months later.

Before that, hard to remember, but I think it was my Jet jointer/planer 6 years ago.

A Wen CT1272 tracksaw. Haven't tried it out yet but it takes 7 1/4" blades so I can run decent diablo blades

I've seen pretty good things about that Wen track saw. Congrats!
