      No, this is standard. household service at my brother's house in FL. That is the meter box minus the meter. Hot, Hot and Neutral incoming on top. The meter plugs in and connects to the bottom set of cables that then goes to the service panel which is a 1956 Edison style fuse box. Everything beyond the meter will be ripped out and replaced next year, or the house will be sold as is. Decisions still to be made.

      Makes me shiver seeing these old meter bases! Lots of work was done hot! To tighten the Allen screw’s you would wrap the Allen wrench in 56 tape and tighten as much as possible, then use an adjustable wrench to tighten until it squeaked. Most used a piece of old garden hose as an insulator for the Allen wrench rather than tape. Occasionally the adjustable wrench old slip off…everyone around jumped back until the sparks were over! Ahhh, the good ole days!
