  • Combo table miter saw

saw this on the internet. Combo table saw and miter saw.

I would hate to have to do a long rip on this baby.

    What do you think?

Your picture isn't showing, but I searched and found the Ryobi Version. This looks like a horrible attempt at a combo machine. That said, I could see it being used for flooring installations where rips are a small portion of every installation and it's a pain to bring a table saw just for the first/last row of flooring.

Now, it just needs a sawstop flesh-sensing blade arrestor and it'll be complete.
Wonder if it has a long arbor for my dado blade?
Also, looking longer, they would seem to have a very limited depth of cut on the table saw part.

It's odd. I can see the picture in my post on one computer, but not the other.

The pictured shows up on my computer okay. Strange contraption, and perhaps I'm not seeing it quite right. The Makita appears to have two separate blades, the larger miter saw blade and a smaller blade for the table saw. The Ryobi looks to me like it uses a single blade with a somewhat larger table.

Looks like the beginnings of a new "Shop Smith"-like tool, maybe they can add a spindle sander or a bandsaw attachment and if they added handles to the side of the lower table, you could remove the fence and turn it into a big circular saw.

Hey, I'm all for versatility but sometimes it can go too far.

This thing looks like a great way to defeat all of your dust collection efforts. There probably wouldn’t be enough suction to catch all the dust if you used it in front of a jet engine.
