Now I'm done. I debated with the wife about what to do with the top. It wasn't wide enough on its own to span the whole top. She didn't want to go out and buy a wider slab because then what was I going to do with the one I had?
Anyway, I think I found a good compromise. My original prototype had a lower prep area which I replaced with a full shelf. So I scribed in a teak plank next to the slab and then inset some rubber bar rail with a router. I grew up in the Philly area, and although it wasn't a date, the Yuengling brewery was the first time I hung out with my future wife (with a mutual friend driving).
