    The bar is open

Done enough to post. I just have the bar rail to install.

    Build pictures are here:

When we lived in the Middle East (ME) a couple years ago, we went to a friends' house party. Mike served cocktails out of this exquisitely carved bar they bought on their first overseas tour in Nigeria. They lugged that bar through all their subsequent tours--I think 5. Looks awesome. Well done. I'd grab a glass of scotch to help you celebrate, but I start work in 10 minutes

Now I'm done. I debated with the wife about what to do with the top. It wasn't wide enough on its own to span the whole top. She didn't want to go out and buy a wider slab because then what was I going to do with the one I had?

Anyway, I think I found a good compromise. My original prototype had a lower prep area which I replaced with a full shelf. So I scribed in a teak plank next to the slab and then inset some rubber bar rail with a router. I grew up in the Philly area, and although it wasn't a date, the Yuengling brewery was the first time I hung out with my future wife (with a mutual friend driving).
