    BT3000 Riving Knife

Does anyone have info on anyone making and selling Riving Knives for the BT3000. I apologize if this issue has been covered in previous posts but I am new to this forum. Appreciate any help or pointing me in the direction of any after market options.

    Welcome to the SawDustZone.

Here is a PDF you can print 100% scale for correct template.
The usual build is mild steel thinner than the kerf of the blade. If you are using a .100" or 3/32" Kerf blade then 0.093" or 0.090" mild steel is recommended.
Aluminum can work, quite well, too.

    Any questions, ask.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

You may be able to purchase one from thesharkguard.com. While you are there look at their excellent blade guards. The founder of that small business was one of the first 100 members of the beginnings of where our forum started and was a long time moderator. I believe his son is running the business since Lee's passing some time ago.

I was not aware of Lees passing. That stinks. I sort of figured he got tied up with the business... RIP Lee!

The link to the sharkguard riving knife page is here.

    https://www.thesharkguard.com/produc...and-splitters/

I think I enquired a couple of years back, the riving knife for the BT3x saws ran about $65 which is showing as the minimum price, but you can get one custom made for the kerf of your blade.

Not cheap but if you can't scare up the sheet metal and cut it and drill it then it might be worth it.

I recently picked up a 4th BT 3000 with a ton of extra parts and accessories. I found a support for the blade guard that I plan to use as a riving knife.

Thank you to everyone for your help, I purchased one from Sharkguard for 65.00. It was a tough cost benefit analysis but since it will help get some more years of use on my BT3000, It was most likely worth it as I do enjoy the saw overall. Also the price is fair for the riving knife even if it is a third of what I originally paid for the saw.
