I just got my Freud 6" stacked dado set. One other order has shipped and three are 'waiting to be shipped'. Two co-workers have an 'out for delivery' status via UPS.

I bumped up the shipping from free to standard (extra $12) figuring it would be shipped yesterday. Wasted $12...got shipped to day (which probably would have anyway). Bank billed for what they originally said. Thanks,

That is where a pre-paid debit card comes in . . . . . .Originally posted by LarryGThat, or they are aware and can't figure out how to fix it without shutting down their entire site. (I'm kinda wondering if they've been hacked, or if maybe they've got some malicious programmers working for them???)
One other point WRT orders that may or not get cancelled: recall that quite a few of us placed orders to get the free DeWalt recip saw, had everything appear to be hunky-dory when the order was placed, only to later find we had been charged the full $75 price for the saw. Those who are placing as many orders as they can to take advantage of this screw-up may be setting themselves up for a LOT of telephone time.Comment

Confirmed my M12V picked up by UPS yesterday, discount intact (charge appeared at my bank today).

Looks like the freeloading is over.
I just checked the amazon.com site one last time before heading home for the weekend, and I don't see any mention of any promotional codes at all other than the three free gifts with selected purchases (wall-hung vac, JET dust collector, and the now-infamous DeWalt reciprocating saw). Otherwise, all of the "Buy $xxx worth of yyyyyy and get $xx off" verbiage is gone.LarryComment

Now its dead
The code is dead. It's over folks. Now lets see how many orders they cancel that aren't shipped yet.Originally posted by LarryGI just checked the amazon.com site one last time before heading home for the weekend, and I don't see any mention of any promotional codes at all other than the three free gifts with selected purchases (wall-hung vac, JET dust collector, and the now-infamous DeWalt reciprocating saw). For those that are afraid of what Amazon may do after sending out orders... Don't worry!!!
If they try to charge you dispute the charges with your order invoice as proof.
If they want the item back (They are entitled to request it) Tell them to send someone to pick up the item on a Sunday and at a specific time and get compensation for your trouble.
If they are late or early by more than 15 minutes have them reschedule.
If they give you any grief about you sending it out, tell them you expect to be compensated for it at $75/hour min 2 hours. (You are entitled to compensation for your time after all it is their screw up)
I bet they drop the whole thing!
Any legal eagle like to comment on the legalities?Last edited by maxparot; 02-17-2006, 09:06 PM.Comment

I predict that ever properly executed order will be processed according to the terms of the original invoice. I doubt anyone will ever hear a peep out of the matter. The lawyer scum (kidding guys) in my office state there is zero liability under contract law to return the items once it has been fullfilled. Can you imagine the world we would live in if sellers were able to modify the terms of a contract after a sale?
Again, I firmly believe you will not be contacted on the matter. Remember the corporate world folks, CYA first and foremost.
If I am approached I will advise they can go pound sand. Ever see the Today Show and the like that have the folks that found airfair for $00.82 round trip? Imagine Today Show or any consumer saying the company would not honor the deal. Not worth the bad publicity.Comment

Hey all,
I made reference to an experience I had in the past with an Amazon error, and what Amazon did to collect. For those of you interested in reading about it here is a link,

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting that.
I took advantage of the promotional code also. I hope it goes through but imagine it will be canceled. Congrats to those who have already received their orders.
Happy shopping.

Well I read throught all 25 pages and it seems that Amazon tried to charge some people corrected priced after shipping but either gave up or had the charges reversed by the credit card company. Some people got scared by Amazons threats but others score big.Originally posted by IshmelHey all,

Also the way the code went through was very different from the free coffee code. Our code gave a 1 time $80 promotional discount to any account using it. So basically if your order arrives you're home free.
I ordered about $600 worth of tools for $120 (5 orders from different accounts)

Looks like the party's over....
No huge surprise....got notice from Amazon CS of cancelled orders. 2 items have already shipped and a third is ready to ship and I'm not able to cancel it...we'll see if they do.Last edited by Knottscott; 02-18-2006, 06:30 AM.Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.
