    using the caulking gun. ugh

    I forgot that there is a lever to release the tension on the tube.. Kept oozing out the nozzle.

    But the caulk was over a few years old, it was too hard and crumbly, like dried up toothpaste. I had to buy a new tube.
    Maker's Website says a year is the expiration. I didn't look to see if it was dated.
    I did label the date on the new tube I just started.

    They really should sell half tubes for smaller jobs...

      I've gotten into the habit of just throwing away any unused caulk once a task is completed for just that reason. It really hurts when you use 1/8th a tube of custom color matched caulk at $30 + a tube.

        Fresh caulking is a must.
        Unless it’s a large job I use caulking in the tooth paste style tubes. More expensive, yes, but with bathroom sized jobs I can control the flow and angle like an artist does a fine brush. It sometimes gets messy but I have refilled my plastic tooth paste style caulking tubes from a large caulking gun.
