    What to do when you are one plank short

    I have to share this.

    I was making the freeze protection box for the sprinkler vacuum breaker which has frozen and broken three times at considerable cost and bother...

    And using scrap, reclaimed and cutoffs of cedar fence boards when I ran one board short...

    So I did this to splice two short boards together.

    Yeah I'm not proud of it but the storm was coming and it was to be out in back of the garage near the garbage can storage., so...

    I guess now that I think about it, I could have put it so the splicing piece was at least on the inside.

    You said one plank short something else entirely came to mind. Usually usually in the shop I'm always a plank or 2 short.

          I wound a roll of bubble wrap around the Inverted "U" of the vacuum breaker and assorted valves. a few inches thick. Then the box goes over it with a cleat on the fence to hold it tightly to the fence.
      Working...
