BT3000/BT3100 Belly pan easy dust collection
I made a belly pan dust collection for my BT3000, using a commercially available, cheap dust pan from one of the woodworking supply houses with a 4" hose fitting.
It seems to work effectively very simple DC belly pan under BT3000. Not tightly fitting I wanted to allow air in to carry the dust to the DC, pulling on a closed cabinet is not a good idea. So the plywood sits on the stand, not screwed down or anything. So there's air coming in thru the ends and the Shroud dust port arc....Last edited by LCHIEN; 05-01-2024, 11:25 AM. -

Between sale price and coupon, the price was low enough that I took the plunge and bought the HF 2HP DC. --Starting with assembly:-- You end up doing quite of bit of assembly with this unit, not just 2 or 3 connections. The very first thing I did when unpacking the unit was to plug the motor in to make sure it ran. Sometimes with HF, you can get little surprises and I din't want to assemble the whole thing and then discover the motor didn't work. It fired right up, no problems. I've seen ta... -

NOTICE: I had posted this review on another forum (Lumberjocks). This is a copy / paste of that review that I had authored there. Full text of the original review follows. For starters, I am not claiming this is an all inclusive review, but rather this is an initial impressions write up for the Grizzly G0572 Hanging Air Filter w/ remote. I have been watching price tags on these machines for quite some time now, and had considered the smaller Jet, Penn State, Delta, even Harbor Freight models, ... -

in Tool ReviewsShark Guard 10.4 initial impressions
I was lucky enough to have an early Shark Guard (Version 4.0 I believe) on my BT3100 when I bought it, and it worked well enough, except for the lack of anti kickback pawls always left me feeling a bit uneasy, and the dust collection port was 2" instead of 2.5", meaning connection to my dust collector required a reducer, and a more than liberal application of duct tape to make the connection work at all... The few shortcomings I saw with my early Shark Guard were more than amply addressed with the re... -

in Tool ReviewsShop Vac 801-75-11 Sawdust Collection System **** UPDATED ****
The Shop Vac Sawdust Collection System Catalog #801-75-11, is a great dust collection alternative to those that lack the space, or funding for a dedicated comparable DC unit and plumbing. The kit comes will all the bits and pieces needed to assemble a basic, straight forward dust collection plumbing system, 36" pipe segments, 90 and 45 degree elbows, pipe couplers, directional tee fittings, friction fit blast gates, pipe hangers and hardware kit. For all but the most basic setups this is adequate... -

I picked this up on a super sale, and it seemed like it might be useful on certain tools because it's super-flexible. Unfortunately it turned out to be the worst DC hose I've every used. Yes, it's very flexible, but it's so heavy that it just sags and droops, making the flexibility useless. It also wants to shrink back to the packaged size, so I've never been able to get it to its supposed 10' length. In reality it's maybe 6.5" long. The interior diameter is too small, making it a huge effo... -

Quick review of the hose. Good and flexible PVC material follows handheld tools like sanders super easy. Wire wrapped soft PVC is entirely too crushable. Be careful not to step on, or drop anything onto the hose! 50 foot bulk box of hose is a lifesaver for those of us wanting to make custom length hoses. I made 1 @ 20 feet, and 3 @ 10 feet out of mine. This was the least expensive hose I could find, which is NOT why I bought it. I wanted hose that I could make a 20 footer out of without splicing... -

in Tool ReviewsPeachtree #447 2.5" Screw End Dust Collection Hose Adapter
I recently picked up a 50 foot segment of Peachtree Woodworking's 2.5" clear PVC dust collection hose in order to make some custom length hoses. (That is a separate review). In order to terminate those hoses, I grabbed some of Peachtree's screw end dust collection hose adapters. A simple little device that is nothing more than an injection molded part with the standard 2.25" O.D. friction fitting on one end, a flange / stop in the middle, and a 2.5" left hand screw thread on the other. The mold... -

in Tool ReviewsJet AFS1000B air filter
The Jet AFS1000B is basically a big metal box with a squirrel-cage fan and two-stage filter system. It draws the air through the filters on one end, and blows it out the other end. It has a control panel on the box as well as a remote control. There are three speeds as well as a timer system so you can leave it running when you leave the shop, to finish cleaning up, and then shut itself off. The outside filter is a standard HVAC type, and the inside filter is a proprietary sub-micron arrangement... -

The Triton Respirator is a whole head respirator that will benefit many people with dust and fume allergies and who work with dangerous fumes on occasion. I am not a professional and I don't think this is geared for the professional daily user. It should work great for most home and home shop users. WHAT I LIKED AND NOTICED IMMEDIATELY: 1. FIT: It adjusts well and fits well. The face mask opens easily and stays up when open and stays shut when closed. I have not had fumes or dust leak in so fa... -

My most wonderful daughter gave me the "Onidea Dust Deputy" for Christmas. It is one fantastic tool. So far it has saved me from dumping and cleaning my shop vac filter. I would recommend one if you can not go to the high dollar engineered, suck the grass off the lawn system. The only down side is you have to buy your own hoses. -
