Argh, went to use my old Bosch 1617evs and the power switch is intermittent.

    Problem with the older Bosches.
Back in the pre 2005 days they did not use a sealed switch and dust got in them and made them intermittent.
I found I had squirreled away a pair of replacement switches. But I'll see if I can blow it out.
Just when I was through with a days work setting up a dovetail jig, this happens.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

    Blowing it out didn't work.

Old switch and replacement I ordered years ago (March 2020)
    Fixed now.

You tube videos said the cover was held on by T15 Torx screws. It was in a deep recess so I dutifully stuck a T15 driver in and did not "seat" the head.
Turns out mine is so old it had Phillips screws.

Must have been a premonition to have bought them then.

Come to think of it, I've had a lot of power tool switches go out in my lifetime...
Delta Drill Press, BT3000, hedge clipper, Bosch 1617, probably a couple more.

When you place an order for repair parts you probably ought to order spare power switches for your tools just to have on hand. Since its going to cost you $10 bucks shipping anyway.
