    Ryobi 18 Volt Bug Zapper

Somewhere in SC is an engineer who has been outside the box for quite some time. Just saw this one,

Not outside the box. More like outside in the back yard.

Why the Canadian HD website? Is it for sale in the USA? Don't see it for sale in the USA HD Website.
Don't We Americans have mosquitos in the USA?

Yeah, I couldn't find it on HD US either. They are two separate companies and order stuff from manufacturers differently. Seen it before, especially with Ryobi products.

It is shown on the RyboiTools site as coming soon. Canada may have gotten them early, or just put them on the website before they had them.

When Ryobi brought out their 40 volt 21" Whisper Series snowblower last year, Canada got them before the US did. I had mine before the HD stores around here had them in stock.

Is my math right? A 2Ah 18V battery can output 36Wh. The zapper uses 10.6W. Is that theoretically a 3.4hrs run-time?

        That's a good approximation.

When I opened up the link it asked it it could use my location. I replied NO, the site refreshed and said not available in my area. If they already knew my area why ask?

The bug zapper might work… I’ve heard experts say that they were not effective against mosquitoes though. My experience says they will work. I had a 3’x4k bug zapper that used 2 48” cfl black light tubes that I “adopted “ from a loading dock that was damaged by a forklift. It hung in my old boat shed. It killed so many moths and other flying bugs that we had colonies of obese toads living under the zapper! One time someone parked a wheelbarrow under it and I bet there was a gallon bucket of crispy fried mosquitoes in it!

Mosquito killer: This is taking the method off topic: Our town of about 2000 (1100 in immediate town limits) has a mosquito patrol that goes up and down the streets two or three times a week in mosquito weather and sprays a fogger. As if that isn't enough, they hire a crop duster to spray the town and around it about once a month. They have been doing this for years. No one complains about their pets being sick.
AND we have a low mosquito population. 10 miles out of town, lots of mosquitos.

They use a Pyrethrum-Based Insecticides, Which originally was derived from from Chrysanthemums. Safe for animals, so I was told.

Well, it maybe showing on the Canadian web site but it is not really available yet. I cannot even get a price for it. Perhaps someone jumped the gun in adding it to the site.
