    What's your oldest tool?

What and how old is the oldest tool that you use?

The oldest known one I use is a Stanley Bailey No 6c I aquired off of ebay. It turned out to be a Type 7 which was produced from 1893 to 1899. It's at least 110 years old.

I have a couple drawknives that might be even older.

Maybe some chisels that (I'm guessing) aren't more than 25 or 30 years old and nothing special.

It isn't that I like shiny new things, just that I don't do much w/ hand tools. Starting to use them more, but...

        Oldest tool

I have a No. 4 Stanley-Bailey plane that is probably my oldest tool, but I also have a 1/4 sheet Black&Decker finish sander that I bought in late 70's or early 80's. I have wanted to upgrade it with one of the better brands but it refuses to die.
I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

I have a 5' wooden bar clamp from my great great grandpa that he brought from Sweden in 1890. There are a couple of spots along it's length where the notches have broken off and it won't clamp anymore. It's the last clamp I choose, but when you don't have enough clamps ...

I have a mess of automotive tools from the late 1980s through the mid 1990s. I have a couple of Craftsman 3/8" socket extensions, one is 12" the other 24" that I bought from a former boss of mine that had retired as a mechanic. He bought them new in 1956.

All of my woodworking tools have been made since 1985. Most are less than 3 years old.

I think my oldest tools are a few choice chisels that are at least 100 years old, and a hammer from my grandfather that's from the late 1800's.

I'm not sure if it is the Disston handsaw I have or the Parks Planer.

My great-great grandaddys double bladed axe.

My daddy gave it to me in 1965 and said it was his great grandaddys axe, and the handle had been replaced three times that he knew of, and the blade replaced once or twice.

I've got some old wood planes that have got to be from the late 1800s. Also had a Stanley Bedrock 605 from 1914-1918.

My oldest power tool is a 1952 Craftsman table saw.
