Finally, the roof is done!
I used light colored steel roof panels that I scrounged and trimmed it out with galvanized angle, drip edge, and ridge. I may have to go back with some self etching primer and paint to kill the reflection off the trim.
Still need to build and install louvered gable vents and come up with a paint scheme. That will wait, though. I'm off Tuesday and am going to move inside to build some storage brackets and get the lights reinstalled.

A little more progress
I had a dipole antenna mounted to the eave of the old roof. It was tuned to pick up the oldies station in San Antonio but would drop in the bracket over time and turn when it touched the roof. With the gambrel roof I considered mounted it near the peak at the rear but decided to try something else first. I made a new antenna, mounted it to an aluminum pole, and hung it upside down from the upper roof joist. The bracket is 1/2" BB ply with a UHMW tape surface on the top and the pole is held with a dowell, allowing it to turn for better reception from different directions. It seems to be working, with better reception than before, and I still have the option of shortening the pole to raise the antenna a little.
Tonight, after work, I was able to beat the rain to get the brackets for my pipe clamp finished and hung. Construction was kept to the KISS theory. 2x4's cut square on one end and mitered to match the roof pitches on the other. The square ends are joined in an L with 1/2" ply gussets screwed to each side of the joint. The mitered ends were secured to the roof joists with the same gusset method. The clamps are hung on screw hooks that were spread open a little and spaced on 4" apart.
Next is to reroute/secure the wiring and install a couple of more lights.Don, aka Pappy,

I see, gambrel roof for headroom. Not a bad idea at all... I am a bit suprised you didn't deck it and use that for additional storage...Please like and subscribe to my YouTube channel. Please check out and subscribe to my Workshop Blog.Comment
