Hey you said you had this jig... its instructions suggest using a 2-7/8" wide, 4 inch tall and 18 inch long base for the jig template.
I was looking at that and thinking of making the block of laminated 1x6s four boards ripped to 3/4" thick by 4 inches wide laminated together to give 3" wide, and trim to 2-7/8"
It occurs to me that I could mill a slot 1 inch deep and 1-1/2" wide in the bottom for storage of the bits and template guides that it needs to keep them all together.
That would leave enough meat for the T-track if I wanted it and it would not have an detriment to operation, I think The block is cut into in operation but that's shallow and way above the bottom, no more than an inch from the top.

    Make sense?

Do you use yours handheld or upside down on a router table?

    That makes sense to me.

I made a similar base a few years ago 9but with less options - for a cheaper version:

Do you use those with a handheld router or do you flip it over and use it with a router table?

I used it one time with hand held router. it was a practice run only. For some reason, I never did use it for the project I had planned.

Sorry I have been with family since it is spring break and my neices and nephews were running me silly...

I made my block back in something like 2008 so the memory on what I used is rusty, has to be 2x6 stock because, well I am too cheap to pay any more for it!

I never did cut the slots for the T track, I have it, just haven't done it (yet).

I use it with a handheld router clamped to the workbench with some quick clamps.
