We've been in this house 33 years. In that time there have been a number of updates and remodels. In one of the upstairs bathrooms there was a pocket door to begin with... Overtime and due to a couple of kids growing up it got to a point where it wouldn't stay on track. Since it opened only to a couple of sinks, once the kids were gone I replaced the pocket door with "saloon" doors.
In the last couple of years SWMBO has watched a zillion "fixer upper" shows on TV and decided she needed the dated saloon doors replaced with the currently popular sliding barn door.
I managed to ignore this notion for a couple of years thinking the fad would pass... Silly boy! So for her birthday this year (August) I promised to build and hang said barn door.
I was/am shocked at the cost of the requisite hardware but once committed...
This is the outside of the door after first coat of Danish oil. Door is made of cedar is about 2.25" thick. I'll post pics once hung.
