Love the look of the panels of the doors. Very nice.

Holy smokes and yikes @ hardware cost!

You could have offered her a nice necklace or something!!!

I'd be praying for Rockler to have one of their 20% promotions.

        Got the door hung today!

As promised these are pics of the door finished and hung.

I used 3 HEAVY coats of Danish Oil (clear), made sure each was very dry before the next and then 3 coats of wipe on poly (satin) again making sure each coat was very dry.

The hardware is of very good quality, the instructions are clear ... a couple of points.

        1. Since the door is 2.25" thick it required the longer hanging brackets which are not part of the kit and must be ordered extra (at $9.00/each and you need 5)
        2. The actual hanging of the bar is straight forward BUT since the door is heavy and will get moved I wanted to be SURE SURE SURE it was not going to fall off the wall. I used the 2x4 rough cedar header (also finished with Danish Oil and poly) and hung it with 4.5" lag bolts into studs that I spend about 2 hours being certain I was centered in a stud for each. Then hanging the bar using the 2" heavy screws on the brackets felt very strong. The mounting of the header and the bar was by far the most tedious and "hard" work of the whole project.
        3. There are two "end stops" and a center stop that get mounted to the floor to keep the door "in line" as it rolls along ... these weren't terribly hard to place and set BUT ... I'm fairly certain someone will stub a toe at some point on the "closed position" stop !

A satisfying project and one I am glad to close the book on after hearing about it for a couple of years ...
