This is my latest build. The body was made from a very very old Western Red aromatic cedar chest gifted to me by a neighbor. I bought the neck on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The pickups are Fender TexMex and the wiring is a kit from ToneShaper.. I have build progress pics if there is any interest. The guitar is much heavier than I expected at 9.1 pounds.

Yeah I was very surprised by the weight. That red aromatic cedar is much heavier than I anticipated.

I'd say so. Every exposure I have had to cedar the stuff has been freakishly light. My Jazz Bass is a basswood body and maple / rosewood neck, and it is on the heavy side. I have a cheap chinese P/J Precision that is maple / maple / maple and weighs in at 7.5lbs... Much easier on the shoulder!
