This was a gift for my wife and is the first table I have made. I used cherry and black walnut. The legs are black walnut with 2 tapers. The shape is trapezoid to custom fit in its planned location. It is finished with 3 coats of tung oil. I used mortise and tenon joints for the legs and apron and biskits for the top.

location
Sorry, I could have been more specific. The wife has a sitting room with 2 chairs side by side, but angled outward from the front of the chairs to the back. The table goes between the two chairs and the angle of the trapezoid matches the angle between the chairs.
Most guys would have made a square and moved the chairs. But most guys haven't seen my wife really angry either.

I love it and now know what the heck a trapezoid is after all these years.
If it's your first table... I can almost assure you it won't be that last so just vacuum the dust off the tools.. put a new edge on them and leave em out to save time when the requistions start piling up in your incoming basket. And they will pile up much more rapidly than the ones that get moved to the out-going basket.
Well done and Merry Xmas...Comment

Beautiful piece! The walnut to form, and accent, the sides of the trapezoid is a uniqe and igreat touch.Don, aka Pappy,
