    No stock, no orders!

Local store here, no stock and none on order!

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

    Is this the start?

Is that no stock, as in we don't have any? Or no stock, as in we can't FIND any?

Or maybe, no stock as in we're too lazy to look?!

found a BT3100 at HD in new orleans

after 3 months of looking, the HD in new orleans got in only one 3100. so i snagged it - 249. it was stacked back in the lumber section, not even in the tools section. i had to get a guy in the tool section to scann it and print a lable. he was not sure when they would get any more. so it home in the box. i did order the acc kit from hd online back in dec- oh well. should have read more.

just need to clean out the garage with all the katrina salavage from the old house. and

This might allow them to manufacture a "killer" saw to compete with the "other" companies.

            Don't know, just a guess!
Ridgid and Ryobi are not owned by the same company.
TTI owns Ryobi, but Ridigid is owned by Emerson Electric.

              CptanPanic,

While it is true that Ryobi (TTI) and Ridgid (Emerson Electric) are separate companies, Ridgid no longer makes their woodworking tools and hasn't for quite some time now. The Ridgid name is now licensed to TTI and most woodworking tools, including the 3650 are now made by TTI.

Probably more important to the scenario, is that both Ryobi and Ridgid power tools are sold exclusively through Home Depot. While I'm sure none of us would argue that this isn't a particularly good deal to us Ryobi and Ridgid tool fans, it does pretty much dictate how these two product lines compete with each other. Over the last couple of years, we've seen more than a couple of Ryobi tools fall from the market, because they came up too strongly against Ridgid or one of Home Depot's preferred and/or more profitable brands.

Unfortunately, in most Home Depot stores, the BT3100 hasn't been understood and/or marketed well. Contractors seem to prefer the beefier cast-iron models that can kick around in the back of the pickup or on the job site. I've yet to meet a single "orange-apron" who had any understanding or training on the BT3100 and in the two stores in my area, the display models sit woefully alone and poorly attended. I guess no matter how smart or capable you are, being the lowly step-child isn't a good thing.

Hopefully, Ryobi will find a better market under the Craftsman name or perhaps will surprise us all by coming up with a model that will gain it better attention with the contract world. Surely, the fans that it has on this site will provide enough encentive for Ryobi to do something, to perpetuate a rather remarkable tool... but unfortunately, I really haven't been overly impressed with Ryobi Marketing's abilities to do much of anything. Really too bad in my opinion, as Ryobi Product Developement, Engineering, and Manufacturing seem quite capable. It seems quite unfortunate that their Marketing folks have fallen asleep. I'm not sure if they are just enept or are somehow compromised and encumbered by their ageement with Home Depot. Certianly their products and customers seem left out in the cold by the situation.

Man it is tough to keep track of who owns power tool companies and who manufactures them.

Hey fdifulco , which HD did you get it from.

I called around mondayand was told that the one on the West Bank Expressway had 2! Well I went there as fast as I could. When I got there, the drone looked around for about 2 minutes then said we don't have any.

We I looked around a little bit, and went and talked to the manager. He said if the computer said they had 20 or so that they probably would have one, but since the computer only said two then they didn't have one.
I asked when was the last time they did a physical inventory, "Just a few days ago." Well I went home and fummed and called around and still no one could put their hands on one.

Well I was reading a few posts here that said they found them hiding either in the corner by the wood or over by the ladders. Hmm, this HD has the ladders over in the corner by the wood. So I took my SKU and searched isle by isle. and guess what I found?!? Sitting in the corner by the wood and ladders was a shrink wrapped pallet full of Ryobi saws. Mostly the 10's and 20's. But the label on the front did not have the SKU for the 3100 (348281). It did have 248281. So I grabed a near by ladder and cimbed up on top of the shelf and searched the pallet. An low and behold the famed phrase "percision table saw".

So I am now the proud papa of a 3100-1. Everyone have a cigar.

If any one in the New Orleans area still wants one, the HD on the Expressway and the one on Lapalco still have one hiding in the store.

Now I hate HD because they can't find their own butts with both hands and flashlight, but I love them because I was told (by the same HD manager) that when an item is discontinued by the manufacturer they are supposed to ship all their stock of them and return them to the manufacturer.

Oh yeh, it was marked down to $239 now. Well worth every penny.

                        BT3100 a Goner

Well I don't know if this has been posted but.

The BT3100 is no longer on the Ryobi Tools Website, either under woodworking tools or corded power tools.

                        So I guess it's official.

                          But still available in Canada

If you live close to the border we still have them in Canada. Still listed on the Home Depot Canada site but not a bargain at $399 Canadian. That's about $350 USD.

Do we? The only ones I can find are the display in the (3) stores I have close.
Can never find anyone to check the computer. Last time I did that they said there were 2 on order for the following day delivery. I went in a week later and they still weren't there. A drone (I like that) told me "we can't keep them in stock"...Yeah right. They hadn't even come in yet.
I'm still looking, because I'm also starting to see some actual clearance sales around for the first time.

Just purchased my Bt3100 1 week ago!

While in the HD, I was fortunate enough to have the Rigid and Ryobi area rep at my disposal. I told him that I was considering on buying a new tablesaw, and that I had heard good things about the 3100 and the Ridgid, however that I had also heard that the bt was being discontinued, and that it had been removed from the Ryobi website. He went on to tell me that the saw was in fact discontinued, and that they were trying to sale all of the current inventory prior to the new model coming out later this year. He stated that this was the reason for the clearance prices. He spoke very highly of the saw, and stated that it was a great deal at that price, commenting that the new saw would not be in that price range. He also went on to say that if I were willing to spend the additional money, then I should also consider the Ridgid contractors saw, due to its sturdier build. I expressed to him that space was at a premium, and that the Ridgid would take up too much of it, so he stated that the bt should meet my needs, and that if I wasn't satisfied with its performance, then I could return it without any problems. I asked if he could clue me in on the new features of the new bt, and he stated that they had not been briefed on them as of yet, however that they had a big meeting in a couple of weeks, at which time he believes that he will recieve that info. He assisted me with loading my bt, and I went on my merry way. Sorry for being long winded, however I thought you guys might want to know the details.
