Irwin Marples Ryoba- style saw bargain at Lowes

Japanese double sided pull saw. AKA Ryoba saw.
Found this on the bargain table, no price tag but rang up $6.72 , more than 20 off reg price $27 at the self checkout.
this is how I have too many tools.
anyone should be able to get a price match any Lowes with my receipt.

I have a couple of dozokus and had several when in Japan. I never did get used to pull cuts versus push cuts that I grew up with. And besides that I used the jigsaw clean cut blades since I can remember. I was never good with cabinet shop grade cuts with handsaws like my dad and uncles were.

For some unknown reason, I never bought a pull saw after all of these years. I have an old Craftsman hand saw I inherited from my FIL that's a joy to use. I have a small dovetail saw. I also have two old backsaws that were given to me by a relative. They were in basically throw away condition. Being very cash constrained at the time, I restored them and had them sharpened and set. I had one done as crosscut and one done as rip. I recently told the Grandson of the donor he could have them when I could no longer use them.

Jim, you should go ahead and gift your grandson the saw while he has the enthusiasm and can still rely on you for support rather than after you pass .
