The salesperson at Lowes told me they would be closing out a lot of their power tool brands and offering a lot more Porter Cable products. He said soon they would cut prices on closeouts to about 50%. He couldn't give me an exact date of the sales but I will be checking back.

Just picked up the Husky 3-pack of folding aluminum utility knives-$5. Includes a bunch of extra blades. Very well-made.

Nice pick-up Tommy. I wonder if other stores around the Atlanta area will honor this?

                    Miter Slot distance?

Folks, ahem, I mean fellow R4511 owners,

Could one of you measure your R4511 saw and tell me the distance from the left (and right) miter slots to the blade? Assuming a 1/8" blade is installed. You see, my saw is still in the box and prob. will be for a few months. I have some jigs to build and it would be helpful to get them close without having to open my saw. Oh, I can't wait till I can get mine set up. Thanks in advance guys.

                    Rance

ill try to do tonight if no one else answers. that said, you should be able to remove the outer cardboard by lifting it up. the saw top is then sitting under a piece of cardboard. you can at least get a taste of the goodness to expect.

Rance, do you need help setting that baby up? I'll be right over.
Get it out of the box and take it for a test drive.

I had ordered one on-line when they first started advertising the kits in Nov. I called the customer service line and after about 5 min talking to the rep and her checking with someone else, they are sending me a $50. gift card.
