            Hi,

I saw this jointer last weekend priced for $202.00 at my local Lowe's (Southern California)and yesterday i went back it's priced $92 .

It took 3 guys to load it up in my truck.

Got mine yesterday for the same price (Arlington , TX store on I-20). They had one on display and another still in the box............I took the one in the
              box.
(sorry for gloating in my very first post, but, I was hoping someone in the DFW area, might grab the display unit)

I just purchased the floor model for $92 plus change and used a $10 off coupon to boot. Also picked up the last package of spare blades on clearance for $20.

When I first heard this jointer was on clearance I noticed it was at regular price at our store. I ask the manager if by chance it was on clearance and he looked it up on the computer and verified that it was on clearance for $330; they had three in stock. Good price, but I already have a nice old Walker Turner jointer. Being a true woodworking tool junky I would check the price when I was in the store.

No question, Lowe's is my favorite place for deals. Found the Delta 1-1/2HP 50-760 on clearance for $147 last year.

Not that I want to incur your wrath futher but I did just do what you told me.

I needed some parts for a project and went to Lowes this morning. The jointer was still showing its yellow tag at $202. I asked somebody to check and the computer said it was $92.25. To cut a long story (and morning) short they only had the display which was missing parts but they found one store in the valley showing 2 on hand. I went down there and got the last one still in a box. Thanks to a posting today that reminded me of the $10 if you use VISA I snagged it for $82.25 +tax out the door.

For anybody in PHX I got it at the Glendale store and their floor model looks intact and in good condition. I did ask if they would take more off the floor model but the manager said he couldnt if he had one in a box. Well now they dont so if anybody in PHX is looking for one you could go down and try to deal the price lower.

Now I do have to re-org my shop again to figure out where I will put it.

Thanks for the heads up. I got mine price matched yesterday for the new price, I had to drive across town because not all stores have dropped the price. That's a hint to all those who bought one at $202, Lowes has a 90 day return policy so they'll price match if you bring in your receipt. Basically they'll return the one you bought and resell it to you at the new price.

In the past the Lowes around here would only pricematch an item that you bought earlier if they still had the item in stock at the store. I suppose you could tell them you were going to return it and then buy it again at the new lower price. But what if they call your bluff and make you physically return it and then they maintain they have the right to restock it on the shelf at a time of their choosing. You may not be able to buy it back - someone else might get the deal.

I'm in SoCal, but one of my local Lowe's is still selling the jointer at $202.95, and the other one is selling it for around $215. Can someone who was able to purchase one of these for $92.50 post a scan of their receipt? I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'd do it, as a matter of principle.

I don't price match enough stuff at Lowes to know what the policy really is, but they price matched this item with no questions asked. If you're like me you'll be at Lowes this week anyway so bring your receipt along and ask the girl at customer service to price match it.

My first post here, I have a question (but I might as well get the gloat out of the way first )

Picked up this jointer at my local lowes for $92.25+tax. They had the display AND one new in box, I took the new in box one. HEAVY machine, me and a Lowes employee threw it in my truck, I was able to take it all inside myself when I got home piece by piece (with my hand truck for the jointer portion) I forgot about the 10.00 off Visa coupon, but at that point I just wanted to get the heck outta there! (I actually bought it during work and had to go back later with my truck........VERY surprised it was still there but then again who is gonna run away with a 212 lb jointer!)

Irony is that right next to the stationary jointer was the benchtop version (much smaller, obviously) on the shelf for $269.00!!

Now a question - Ive assembled the whole thing, but the belt guard hits the motor pulley. The manual just tells you do "adjust motor pulley" by using the pulley adjustment instructions, but Ive already done the procedure and its still in the way. The spot it hits in seemingly would only be cured by lifting the motor upwards, but then that causes too much slack in the belt.

Has anyone had this happen? If so, whats the resolution?

All of the parts are intact, nothing clearly bent, etc. I actually started it up temporarily without the belt guard on, and its nice and smooth and quiet. Just need to fix the belt guard issue and I should be good to go.

Ill try to take a pic of the receipt tonight and post it, for anyone that wants to use it as ammo to get their own Lowes to price match.

                                -Chris
