Ok, my original post was in reference to JJ who asked yesterday for a copy of the magazine with the $150 price. I was simply letting him know that the add was no longer valid. Since I wasn't replying to your post I wasn't sure what you were talking about.

Still a nice unit for the money.
i just got one of these today and am having (almost- i'm not to the point where i'm going to build my own base) the same frustrations. i only had 4 nuts to go on my 14 of 16 bolts that hold the casters on- at least i got 4 casters though

does anyone know if there are common missing nuts and bolts in the package? i can't decipher the parts list very well and i'm far from a hardware store.

      thanks,
      rb

They haven't changed the instructions for 2 years but about a year ago they started threading the base so you don't need the nuts and washers. Aslo there's a trick with the new casters that have locks they hit the base. There were a bunch of threads on secrets of assembling the HF 2HP DC. Who knows what else they have changes in the last year.

        Look at this thread.

Hey Rocky, just put the misc fasteners in your hardware cans and go buy everything in the same size. If yours is like mine the bag of parts is 50% un-useable. I also had to drill out all of the holes and put in spacers but what I have now is better. Roger your comment on the casters. I wouldn't have wanted to replace those.

I must have gotten some of the spare parts you guys have been missing. Mine had all the correct nuts and bolts, and when I was done I had 7 or 8 washers and one nut left over. I also had no problems with the threaded holes in the base on mine. Sounds like I was lucky.

Mine had all the correct parts as well -- once someone here was kind enough to point out to me what was mentioned above -- the base is threaded so you screw right into it, no nuts required.

i looked at my base again and 2 or 3 holes were threaded but not the holes for the casters. i had to return a clamp that had broken and i mentioned the missing parts to a cashier- thinking that if anything they would ask me to return the entire dust collector, but to my surprise he asked a manager what to do and the manager said she'd get me the missing hardware out of another box. i was expecting the bag with the nuts and bolts in it but she brought me the box that contained all the hardware, including the clamps and dust bags. she said she wanted to make sure i had everything i needed.

how cool! i wasn't expecting any help at all and i ended up with much better customer service than i ever got at home depot or lowes.
