Thanks guys for such a quick response. What a great forum. Beth at the home office is looking it up for me - she even asked which stores are most convenient for me which I thought was surprisingly nice of her .

Did they actually find you a vise using the number provided? I called my local BL and they said that number was useless to them...She asked for a description...I couldn't even begin to think about how that discussion was going to go. I kindly said Nevermind!

Beth at the BL home office gave me the SKU number as "130011160"...I found it at one of my local Big Lot's stores...they're holding me one at the front counter...going to pick up this pm. Thanks, Troy! [8D]

Big Lots at Cimmaron & Mason in Katy, Tx had two left at 1pm. Did have three before I got there. I looked every shelf over twice and didn't see them. Third times a charm. Wife and grandsons are out of town for a week, maybe I can find time to mount it on my Ultimate.

Okay, I've been to 3 BLs in Arlington and Fort Worth with no luck. Any ideas on the best way to locate a couple. Stopped in the one of the Fort Worth stores this afternoon and asked the gal stocking if they had a woodworking vise and got the deer in the headlight look! Then had to try and explain what a vise was. Help.

JeffW, thanks for the offer. I located a store in Austin that had them in stock. Swung by on the way to see the 'Boss' at the hospital and picked up 2. They had 1 left on the shelf. The store is at Airport and Lamar if anyone in the area needs one.

Steve, go to the website and do a store locate search, then get on the phone.

BTW, Scott, good luck. The store was supposed to have held one for me at the CS counter. Got mine off the shelf!

Hmmph. they only had 1 left at 6:30 PM. Of course, I got there at
6:20. And I walked past it twice, too, before I found them. (took the one in the middle, didja Don.) The box wasn't really beat up or torn, but it had a lot of stickers over it and the labels were sort of worn so it wasn't real obviously standing out that it was a vise in there or it was a Record.

For the record it was SKU 1362300111609 on the receipt.

I called all the BLs here in Columbus and none could find it. One guy told me that they had 3 but someone bought 2 the night before and they couldn't find the third one (he wanted all 3). So , I went to the one that Beth (at corporate) said had it and the third time down the isle was the charm for me as well. They had one left and I got it. Whew! []

Were there supposed to be instructions on mounting and maintenance or is it pretty straightforward?

I checked mine in Somerset, Pa. ... no luck. But it sounds as if I may have to double check. I actually have this exact vise right now. Paid $79 or $89 at Lowe's about a year ago. Figured I 'd pick up an extra at that price.

Thanks for the link, Troy. I bought 2 and checked the box the 3rd one was in. No instructions to be found. Got the destructions pages printed out, now.
