Christmas coming. What are some Xmas gifts for Woodworkers around $20 or so

AN item pictured below that I had never seen before until the Bit Height Adjustment thread came up. It sure looks interesting and is more than $20. It is in the lower $30 dollar range and looks very usable. I could use it for router height adjustment. See the second picture below with the 4 part picts, bottom left corner. It can even be used in the center section of the device on the flat side of the red part. I have to get me one of those!

It was described as a drill bit depth tool but has multiple uses beyond drill bit lengths.

Rockler made the original Fence Clamps but there are lots of copies now






They are great for clamping things where you can't have stuff protruding from both sides.
Great for holding things to fences where you can't have anything protruding from the work side. Also for holding tools and jigs to the workbench where you don't want the clamp sticking up.

40. years too late for me. When I was in college I had a 3 bedroom fixer upper and my roommate started a pan on fire. She grabbed the pan, realized it was too hot to hold and set it on the linoleum floor and then dumped a bucket of water on it. The second fire she grabbed a hotpad, took the pan out and threw it into the yard, spreading flaming grease across the cedar deck and burning it off the house. I gave her a fire extinguisher as a wedding present.

Get one for your woodworker's shop. Get one for each of your children with their own place and one for each of your siblings and elder parents if you have some (my mom set her independent living apartment on fire) And get one for yourself!

Maybe these blankets are fairly light weight. In our welding shop at work there were always blue welding blankets used to cover things that shouldn’t have welding slag and sparks on them ( get hot slag on an epoxy or acrylic floor and you have a nasty mess). When these blankets got enough burn holes and tears we would cut them up into beach towel size to use for snuffing out small fires as described with your fire blanket. I learned the hard way that you don’t just throw the blanket over the burning pot of grease, you gently drape it over the burning pot. This way the burning grease is not blown out of the pot and on everything on the stove. The lighter weight blanket will be nice. After it gets used and is nasty if it is cheap enough you just throw it away and replace it. …..It will not work on an electrical fire.

When a standard center punch won't stay put while actuating, I find this spring punch very handy. I also like the cup end for driving brads in that didn't get set deeply enough.
