Looks like you are behind in your spring yard cleanup.

What’s all that white stuff? That crap looks cold!
I thought that our spring was messed up here in the Deep South, warming up earlier than usual. Last frost has long gone and my garden has been in her ground for several weeks. The pollen has been excessive, like rivers of yellow dust on my driveway. Global cooling if you ask me?

Yesterday (Wednesday, 18 Apr) it snowed so hard I could barely see the house across the street. Went to grab my camera, but by the time I did, the sun was out. Repeated that on and off during most of the afternoon. Hey, this is NY, where if you don't like the weather, you just wait a minute.

Was at the local plaza this afternoon and as I was leaving the store I got hit with is tiny, BB-sized hail. By the time I got to the car I my head looked like Frosty the Snow Man... glad I keep a towel in the car. So far, I think I've attempted to put my parka away at least three times this so-called Spring. The local public radio weather is forecasting 1 to 3 inches of snow tonight; they're probably wrong, but I don't bet either way.

        Happy Spring everyone,

It cooled off nicely this week. We're able to leave the doors open all day which the dogs love. And been working on garden projects where it's nice to have cooler weather. It's a nice 74 now, as I gather the shovels. Also saving on the AC costs.

Northern Illinois is the same. We are having Februapril. We have had snow fall on a number of days this month, and lots of cold days below freezing. I seem to recall things got cold here early last fall, so it has been winter here for about six months. Our soil temperature is 11 degrees F below the average soil temperature over the past 10 years.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Here in Athens and Venice these past few days, it's been T-shirt weather.

Today I'm servicing and firing up the shop swamp cooler for the first time this season. I lived with the heat yesterday, but it's even hotter today.
