I have a Win7 desktop with a dual TV tuner installed. This weekend I was trying to record a show using Windows Media Center and saw that their TV guide was empty. Seems like it could be related to Win10 since it doesn't have WMC. If so, it sucks that MS would stop supporting things retroactively.
Coincidentally, at work tomorrow, I'm in a group of about 50 people who will be the first to try out Win10 at our organization. I guess they're completely jumping over Win8. We're supposed to get new Microsoft Surface 3s. I have a Surface from work now which I like but I still pretty much use it like a laptop and don't really use the touch capabilities and never use the stylus. I haven't tried an iPad, but the Surface is a great little machine. Other than the smaller screen size, it really can do everything my big work desktop/laptop can do and the battery life is great.
We also have a lot of XP machines, too, which we can't easily upgrade to Win7 or higher because of the equipment they're connected to. One company wanted $50K to upgrade the machine to Win7. After I stopped laughing, I told them to pound pavement. I bought an extra XP machine and installed their software. IT will put the machine on a secured VLAN.
