Not much thought went into it.... it's my first two initials and my last name.
Unfortunately, I have a rather common name "Charles Smith".... so much so that "Charlie Smith" had become an extreme annoyance at times, like when I earned that really nice plaque for an achievement early in my career, it was labeled "Charlie Smith". Now if your name was 'Robert Q. Whatever', would they have made the plaque as "Bobby Whatever", not likely!
I started going as "C.W. Smith" after that... and that developed into just CWSmith, which it has been my signature for a few decades now.
As you can tell, I'm sensitive about being just another "Charlie Smith" (and thus the monologue, sorry )

A prosaic first letter of my first name, John, and first three letters of my last name (Donhowe). Too lazy to hit the shift key.Comment
