        An asbestos shingle trimming tool?

        The obsolete requirement is a big challenge.

                        CLUE #7. It was a one handed tool.

                        CLUE#8. It was nothing more than an "enabler".

                        CLUE#9. They are seen now on eBay, and referred to as "vintage".

                              Vacuum tube puller fits those criteria with one exception, they aren't really obsolete. Most musicians I know, particularly hard rock, and jazz musicians, prefer to play through tube amps instead of solid state... Gives a warmer sound.
