    used DVD/CD bulk containers

I have a number of empty 50- and 100- pack CD and DVD bulk containers.
As an inveterate pack rat, I still have them long after the disks are gone.

Anybody have an idea of what they might be good for? Clear bayonet Locking lid, 3" or 6" tall internally 4.5" diameter, most with a post in the middle.

A little mini-terrarium for school kids???

I use a bunch of them in the shop to hold pencils, small parts that I'll soon be needing, felt tipped markers, string, nuts and bolts that I take out of something that I didn't build right, FOD that I find on the floor, etc.

The uses are limited only by your imagination.

You could put a bunch of them together and make a dust deputy!

LOML keeps small office supplies in them, like paper clips, pencils, pencil lead tubes. I don't use them in the shop at all.

They hold the 4 and half inch

grinder wheels just fine. Plus I keep odds and ends in them also. Let's see, last count there were nearly two dozen in my office and out in the shop...

If you have no need of them, perhaps ebay them.

I think it was on the router forums, but I saw someone use the lid as a router bit cover on their table.
Also know my father used one as a jig since it was the correct size circle for a project.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

I saw a shop tip once where they used them for storing round orbital sander disks.

You must have smaller school kids down there - around here, not even one school kid would fit in a CD or DVD container, terrarium or not

I'm curious what happened to the disks. I have some from various deals and find I don't use the disks that much - and when I do, there is the question of where to store them. I often used the "empty" bulk holders to store them, since they take up less space than the individual cases. The bulk holders are also good for storing all the install, OS, application, etc disks - takes up less space than either the individual holders or the DVD "binders".

ok, it took a while to find the right words... "cake box Spindle"
mostly full, there's a few listings for empty spindle or spindles.
                        most go unsold...

I believe jewel case is the terminology.

jewel cases are for single disks such as audio CDs come in.

                            I've been talking about
cake box spindles which are for bulk (usually 25, 50 or 100 blank) disks, like this:
