Will be lucky to get out of this winter without pnuemonia!

Today's daytime high is in the 70s, tomorrow night's overnight low is 24...

I wish it would just pick a temp and stay there a while...

Just stay in an HVAC envelope...

I loved it Saturday, spent the day in shorts outside and didn't even have to put shoes on. Supposed to ice, sleet & snow tomorrow morning.

I thought guys from Texas were supposed to be tough. Hades, you can barely make ice cubes at 24°F.

It was in the 60's here Saturday, Wednesday the high is to be 10° and the low -9°. We are under a blizzard warning and may get up to 18" of snow with high winds. That is scheduled for tonight after the sleet and freezing rain. 18" is about 6" more snow than we usually get all winter here. It is the freezing rain that worries me.

on my 50-mile commute this morning we drove straight into the teeth of the cold front.
It was drizzling when i left home, 68 degrees. It was raining steadily when we left the carpool location. The rain turned briefly to hail and then resumed raining harder. About 20 minutes from the destination 20 miles north of Houston on I-59 the rain had turned into a driving rain and strong gusty winds. I turned on the outside temperature indicator and amused the passengers by calling out the temperature as it dropped from 61° to 43° by the time we got to FM1960 in Humble, TX.

even though we knew the temperature it was a shock getting out of the car and running for shelter, fortunately the rain eased slightly and the leak over my office that doused my desk and chair last week had been repaired Friday...

P.S. Dave, you should see this front passing your house at about 7:30 to 7:45 this morning...

I only live maybe 10 minutes from the Fl line. About 2 weeks back, I was returning from Pcola and saw snow flurries. It cleared back up some at the line going back into Al, but that is the Sunshine State you know. It did feel .....a bit awkward.

Last winter was pretty cool, but this one is ...well....like Winter! Coldest one I ever remember here. We generally get it in spurts. Maybe a few bad weeks a season. Just about every week so far has a few days of freezing temps at night here. Doesn't look like the pattern will change until I wake up one morning and it will be 80 and not look back.

Somehow I can't find it in my heart to sympathize with you, I'll trade you anytime.

Right now. it's 25 deg. and, guess what, it snowing again, or is it that it hasn't stopped.

I HATE WINTER. Especially with a broken ankle and crutches. Now I know why they changed to aluminum ones, you can't set them on fire like the wooden ones.

Wow....I guess that explain the lack of tourists from down south up here....

It was -24 C overnight here (-18.4 F) and is currently a balmy -17 C (1.4 F)....Texas looks real good from where I'm sitting right now.....

It showed up a bit earlier than that, and knocked my power out for a while... I managed to be late for work due to the traffic issues (traffic lights down etc...)

It's colder than a witches chin out there now!

It is 41 degrees now and extremely windy. We are supposed to have a 4 day freeze, so we are draining the sprinkler system and wrapping the backflow pipe, opening the attic door a few inches, trickling water from one faucet, and opening all the sink cabinet doors. Chances of snow on Friday are 60% WOO HOO! I hope it snows and can't wait for our girls to enjoy it.

Last year we had a 3 day freeze and covered our hibiscus, but it did no good. They all died, but instead of ripping them out they were cut to the ground and grew back. We'll do the same again this year.

Stay warm everyone this winter freeze extends into many states.

How does a freeze affect the tools in an unheated garage?
