Back in the USA (with minor problems)

We made it back Monday night - into the US. We are enjoying our family . Great timing just before Christmas, too.

We had a couple of bumps on the way:

    • I was told at check-in in Nagoya that my name was pulled as one to be "searched". The people were super polite through the whole process and announce each move before touching me. They did not inspect my carry-on like I thought they would. Instead they opened it and used a swipe cloth around the perimeter and over the center. The whole search procedure of me - was not nearly as invasive as I perceived it to be and I have been treated a lot more rude at US airports from inspectors just telling me to take my shoes off!

    • We went from Nagoya to Tokyo, changed to a flight to Seattle and then to Memphis. At Seattle, we got our 5 checked luggage, took them through customs with no problem and turned them into the re-check station to send on to Memphis. BUT in Memphis, only 4 bags showed up.

A check with baggage showed that it was sent back to Tokyo.

It finally made it back to Memphis tonight and we are waiting for the delivery. I asked one person if I could get the frequent flyer miles that the suitcase got! No response!

At least the planes took off....and landed....at the right places. Beyond that everything else is minor....

Enjoy the family time for a few days and relax.

Welcome home! The people got on, the plane went up, the plane came down, the people got off with their own locomotion. All in all a good flight.

Welcome back. I can't remember the comedian, but it was a guy that traveled a lot. He went to check in and asked for a ticket to Chicago, but wanted his bags to go to Memphis. The clerk said "We can't do that". He said..."You did it last month".
