Surely you can't be serious? Leslie Nielsen

Leslie Nielsen Dead at 84. He passed away yesterday after suffering complications from pneumonia. Most people will remember him fron the "Airplane" and "Naked Gun" spoofs. but he was also the captain in the movie "The Posiden Adventure".

Dr. Rumack: The last thing he said to me, "Doc," he said, "some time when the crew is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to get out there and give it all they got and win just one for the Zipper. I don't know where I'll be then, Doc," he said, "but I won't smell too good, that's for sure."
Sometimes the old man passed out and left the am radio on so I got to hear the oldie songs and current event kind of things

Sad news. He had a gift for spoofing the same stereotypes he had spent much of his career portraying.

Rest in peace, and thank you for the laughs.

        Just don't call him Shirley:-)

Also known as Colonel Buzz Brighton in the M.A.S.H. episode "The Ringbanger" from Season 1 I believe...

His funniest role was in Naked Gun though...

No matter what role he played, he was always a riot!

I liked him best in the fifties movie "Forbidden Planet." It was just plain bad sci-fi and he was perfect for it.

I loved Police Squad at the end when the closing credits would be shown with the cast pretending to freeze frame while the credits roll - and the captured crook would slip away while everybody was standing still.
