    A prayer request for me

Well, I go back to 'big city hospital' (HUP in Philly) to get a 4 month echo cardigram and an opinion of how soon or if I can go back to work. They had planned to do another in July but I pressed the issue because of a bit of scare that I got from the disability insurance companie. One guy said that there was no question that I was totally disabled and I said that I was going back to work. His response? "I don't thin so". I asked him why he said that. His comment was that he never has an opportunity to speak with heart failure patients with my low numbers because they don't last this long. I had occasion to call the doc's office and spoke with her assistant and told her about this. I mentioned that I would be in for a visit and I wanted a reality check - you know, the Dutch uncle (Aunt, in this case) face to face talk about where I stand. That's it. I actually feel pretty good except that I fatigue pretty quickly, but expected that.

    Thanks, folks!
    Blessings,
    Chiz

Ouch! Get the straight dope from the doc. They can be a slippery bunch sometimes, especially when they want you to have positive attitude. I like your Dutch aunt approach.

          Good luck!

I'll be thinking about your continued health. Heed what docs have to say and you should be right as rain.

Best wishes for better news. Remember that doctors don't have all the answers, and don't offer guarantees, and if you ask enough of them, you'll eventually find one who will tell you what you want to hear, but that doesn't really change the future. You have more to do with the outcome than the doctors, usually. The power of strong faith and a positive attitude cannot be overstated. Get proactive, and do whatever you can to positively influence the outcome. If you can believe it, you can achieve it.

Start to worry if, and only if, the docs say to. The insurance guy probably has about as much medical training as the Worker's Comp clerk that closed a case on me before I saw the specialist they approved.

Thought and prayers are with you.

Went through a little Heart experience this past year, and contrary to suggested out come, I now no longer have a cardiologist. Released and told to go and do. Doc's will give you the common line on an condition, you personal circumstances can be significantly different.

                        Chiz,
As I see it, you have already proved that guy wrong : you are here, and healthier than he expected ! So don't let it get to you - I am confident you will outlive him, with all our prayers working for you ! Best of luck.

OMG, prayers of course but I sure hope the insurance guy was misreading something or had the wrong form or something. Let us know what the doctor says.
