FWIW, jussi, Valero is not exactly a "smaller chain." They just kind of snuck up on us! http://www.valero.com/AboutUs/

    Fast Facts
Annual 2007 Revenues: More than $95 billion
    Total Assets: $38 billion
Number of Employees: 21,798 (EOY 2007)
Refining Throughput Capacity: 3.1 million barrels per day
Number of Retail and Wholesale Sites: Approximately 5,800
Number of Wholesale Markets: Valero markets products in 44 U.S. states, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean region

You're right. I didn't mean to imply that they were a mom and pop store. Just not Chevron, Mobile, etc. And you're right about them sneaking up on us. I only saw one branch near my area a couple of years ago and now there at least 4 I can think of near me. I even see them when I go the OC area.

I don't know how long this ride is gonna last but I def will be enjoying it.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

      Go figure
Several stations around here were $1.61 yesterday. Today I saw one at $1.75.

Now that everyone has driven to Granma's, they've got you heading back home.

Valero is the largest independent refiner in the US and produce a sizable portion (~30%?) of all the gasoline consumed in the US.

My 401K thanks those of you who buy gasoline from them for your business

1.99 in Portland and Vancouver. I saw 1.83 in Olympia yesterday.

It was nice to fill my car for under $30.00 the other day and it takes premium!
