    Gas price in your area?

I've been seeing a very nice steady decline of gas prices in my area. About .10 every few weeks. It's $1.89 at a local gas station here. Smaller chain called Valero. I think I almost cried when I saw that price My tool budget just got a wee bit larger.

Does anyone remember what the average price was before these increases started happening?

Average prices move around a lot and it also depends on how far back "before" is.

Enjoy cheap gas while you can. As the economy picks up, so will the prices of oil and gasoline. This is just a sharp but brief downward blip on a steadily rising price curve.

I use so little gas that I just don't even notice prices.

FWIW, jussi, Valero is not exactly a "smaller chain." They just kind of snuck up on us! http://www.valero.com/AboutUs/

One of my bosses yesterday, went to the grocery store and picked up a few things. They have a spend so much in groceries, and get a gas discount. His was a dime a gallon, and he paid $1.24 9/10.

It was fairly "cheap" at 1.78 at a local chevron. It was a couple pennies higher at the philanthropically owned Citgo

1.89 9/10 on the Reservation. At least 15 cents lower than other Shell stations.

$1.79 a gallon yesterday in Sacramento, CA. Down from $4.40 in August. It hasn't been this low in a few years. Of course my house is worth about as much right now.

$1.91 in Temecula, Ca. Diesel, which I use mostly is @ $2.49. Enjoy now cause its gonna go up when the economy picks up, probably higher than we have ever seen. By the way I believe that Valero is part of BP. They seem to be in competition with ARCO here, rotten gas (ARCO that is).
