We've got about 4-5" so far--it's sleeting now too. I was planning to go to Madison but cancelled it due to weather.

I checked the snow blower yesterday and thank goodness it is running well.

        Weather guessers are claiming:

1- 1-2" of snow changing to sleet and then freezing rain. .25" of freezing rain expected.
2- 1-3" of snow changing to sleet and freezing rain. Possible ice accumulations.

I've got 4 rose bushes and fushias blooming. My oranges are getting big but still green, may be ripe in January.

It started snowing here in Seattle about an hour ago. So far it isn't sticking to the streets but the way it is coming down it will soon.

Had some of the white stuff today. Not enough for the kids to get their sleds out but cetainly enough to see more than enough fender benders.

Time to break out the shovels. We get about 6" last night.... the kids are asking to get the sleds down too.

Last week on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me, one of the callers was from Tucson. Naturally, he started in on how nice the weather was. Says the moderator: "Ah yes, it's that time of year when it turns from intolerable to insufferable!"

Yesterday afternoon and evening we got hit with freezing rain. It's in the low 50s now, and it's all melted. But it is supposed to get cold again, likely freezing the rain we're getting now.

For those of you who haven't seen snow in a while. We went and got our Christmas tree yesterday and we played in the snow.....

and we got even more around our house last night because it was snowing all night..we have maybe 4 inches total or more...

It started snowing suddenly yesterday at about 1:00PM and it snowed through mid morning today. It accumulated about 6" at one point. The temps were 35'ish so it did stick but now it's a slushy mess. We have gone from a Winter snow warning, to a flood warning and now a high wind warning 40-60 mph all in 24 hours.

Crazy. Here are some pics of Jonahs first experience with snow.

                                snow

All we have in Alaska today is alot of wind. 30 to 80 knot winds. We are going out to set the trap lines in the morning. We will be going to Glennallen. Then north from there. Wind is only to be 15 knots by then. Wind chill to only -20. No snow to speak of but the trapping for linx should be good. The state has a good Caribou hunt going on in Chicken so the traping should be good after the hunters are done! We should do good if we can find the kills. Should'nt be a problem if the hunters killed the 1800 they were given.

Talk after we get back, if we do.
