hOW TO MOUNT FLAT BOARD TO FACEPLATE FOR EASY REMOVAL

I have this Marrison system jig, for cutting stacking rings out of a 3/4" board. The board needs attaching to a large 10-"? faceplate, so that as the rings are cut, they do not fly off. But then they need to be removed. I used to glue the board to the faceplate using thick paper, but this needs a lot of cleanup after removal. Recomend an easier method? Just finishing the dedicated cutting tool.

Not quite sure what you are describing, but for cutting rings and circles using a router circle jig, we have the problem of the loose pieces flying off as they come free from the piece being cut, so we want to hold it to the backer board.

Double stick tape? Hot Melt adhesive (from hot glue gun)?

Usually those can be peeled off with no damage; test first.
Then you can get a feel for how much you need to hold it securely.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Double stick carpet tape works pretty good for thicker bowls type items (3 to 4 inch thick), so it should work fine with the boards that you use.

Be careful as there are different kinds of carpet tapes available. Some are like a double sided duct tape and those are good; some are very very thin and while they might work, they are hard to handle for me. They ball up, fold over, stick to itself before getting flat on the face plate.

Where did you get your jig system? I have been interested in one.

Is this jig for a lathe?

Here it is in use, it is a tool holder for use with a lathe to get even spacing when cutting rings.

I've never used this jig, but I have used xFasten double sided woodworker's tape to hold other stuff together when turning. It holds well and peels of cleanly when done.

I'll use it at some point. I plan a project where I need 8 each of 6" diameter circular holes cut.
Using a typical router circle jig, the router spins on the circle and when the circle is cut through, the router can move relative to the hole and gouge the new edge of the hole, Double stick taping both the hole (waste piece) and the piece with the hole to the backer board will keep them from moving and gouging the freed up part.
