I pulled out my Ryobi 18V Jig Saw Saturday to use for a few cuts and it was slow. It sounded like the gears or blade holder was full of rust. I thought "is the battery almost drained?" but I knew that these 18V batteries and tools go almost full to mostly full speed to the end and then they just stop. I put in a fresh battery. Same thing!
Next I remembered using it a three weeks ago with my 20 year old grandson doing most of the work with it. While he is very adept with woodworking and tools, I wondered if he had done something to it.
THEN, it dawned on me - Look at the speed control dummy! It was set on SLOW!
( Grandson must have done that - I never set the speed for slow!)
