    Be careful with Pawn shops. Depending on the shop, much better deals can be had on refurbished equipment, and you have no risk of the law coming back on your for possessing stolen property that you thought you had legitimately purchased...

      As luck would have it, the Power Tool Fairy (distant, wealthier relative of the Tooth Fairy) happened to extend an offer that I couldn't refuse. Only stipulation was that purchased item had to be new.

      So, found the C12FDH at local Lowes for $219 and includes a 5-year warranty. Looking forward to making sawdust!
