I'm sorry to see this particular subject turn into an argument, even a well-mannered one.

I do agree that "pictures" go a long way proving a person's statement, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it did or didn't happen.

I of course don't speak as a wood craftsman, but I do know that as an professional technical illustrator, a majority of my work over forty-plus years is restricted by confidentiality-clauses in whatever contracts and understandings that one reaches with clients. And of course, so much is just not kept or copied because in the rush of things, it wasn't deemed all that special at the time. Still, I would not feel particularly happy if my abilities were called into question.

Point is, I can understand if things can't be shown to back up a statement. But, I can also say that I've run into an awful lot of folks who make a claim or statement that can't be substantiated, simply because it isn't true.

But, I don't see that here (maybe I missed it though). It seems that we just have a difference in opinion.

My apologies if I've stuck my unwanted nose in the middle of this, but I have come to respect the postings and the individuals behind them. I just hate to see any of it get fanned into an argument. I'm sure it was all well-meaning and the reader can probably sort out what's what for themselves.

Its an open forum and all are welcome as long as the discourse is courteous.

Whether the member in question will ever post his works or links to his works is the only question being pursued. We have always taken each other at our word and friendly banter of "no pics, didn't happen" has always been used as a means to illicit pics. No pics have been forth coming therefore one is led to believe what??

If there are museum pieces on display they are public domain. I for one would be extremely proud of a member that had something on display. I can not think of any reason why someone couldn't claim his work that was on display at a museum, unless it was a forgery. i.e. - done for someone else and put under their name? Are their any other reasons why one couldn't claim their own work on display at a museum? I find that odd... Maybe someone else can fill me in on how that works. Anyone work at a museum have information on how displays are set up? The behind the scenes activities and contracts that go on?
