    Peachtree Woodworking Supply

Anyone ever shop online at Peachtree Woodworking Supply company? If so, how would you rate them.

Never had an issue. Usually order online and pick up in their store.
I have a little blog about my shop

i don't do their on-line store much, I see them every year at the (traveling) Woodworking Show and find a wide selection and their prices for commodity items easy on the pocketbook at the show.

TWWS will be in Houston/Katy this year March 30-April 1 (2012)

I haven't bought from them in a few years, but the stuff has always been good quality, prices decent, shipping slightly high, but not intolerable. They are great to buy from at the Woodworking show booth. I need to stop by this year and get a new bag of acid brushes, and other misc stuff...

All in all, I would rate them at between Woodcraft and Rockler... Woodcraft being on the low side, Rockler on the high side, and Peachtree smack in the middle... But then again, I have Woodcraft and Rockler within 50 miles of me so I can get to them somewhat easily...

FWIW, depending on the product you are shopping for, I tend to like the stuff and the customer service from MLCS better than Peachtree, not hammering Peachtree mind you, just MLCS has been a top notch kind of company with nice stuff...

I saw the add for the woodworking show in Houston - thinking about going - never been to one. I am not sure the wife would be that interested. Will need to make it an over nighter. Sounds like a pleasant weekend.

Go, if you have never been its an interesting experience. Leave wife at home, do one better, get her a spa treatment for the day and she will never notice you were gone for the day or two...

Peachtree is fine. They carry the same type of stuff you can get at Rockler, Woodcraft, Hartville, Woodpeckers, Incra, Eagle, ...

As others have said they have a HUGE presence at the Woodworking shows. It's hard to tell where they store starts and stops sometimes. And it's awesome to touch and feel all the different components (this is no place for your wife, just bring lots of cash).

I've ordered a few times from them when they had a particularly good price on something (Triton 3 hp router for $175, $189 to my door for example). From what I can tell they don't ship things the next day though. Sometimes it seems like they let it sit for a few days before it makes it to the shipping dock. I've had this happen to me a couple times.

It's pretty simple for me online: Amazon, Amazon, Amazon, then if Amazon doesn't have it I go to places like Woodpeckers, Incra, Peachtree, MLCS.

edit: Almost forgot! Make sure to get on PT's e-mail list. They have some spectacular limited number special buys where you can score pretty big if you act fast (but I still check Amazon first ...)

edit 2: Yeah, their website blows big time!

Here's the deal for the wife:
                  1. if she's got the slightest interest in your Woodworking, then bring her along and she can see the tools at work and see work other people have done and maybe tell you what she likes or wants. Its a different thing with a whole bunch of enthusiasts, many with their wives - can be infectious.
                  2. Wives are free, its like 8 or $9 admission for you.
                  3. If she gets tired or bored, there is Katy Mills Mall, a really, really big outlet mall just a mile away, real, real easy to get to. With free parking both places she can come and go and pick you up later. Here's a link to Katy Mills Mall outlet stores http://www.simon.com/Mall/?id=1253. When European guests come to visit us on business, they go and stock up at Katy Mills Mall. SHe gets to spend money, you get to spend money (If there's any left)
4 Lots of good eating places East down the Katy Freeway for 5-8 miles or so.

there's some nice new motels right by the mall,

Loring lays a neat plan. I wish we had some shows nearby...

I've bought from peachtree several times, usually the orders started with a good sale item or two. It's always been good. Some of their stuff isn't the highest quality, but it is also priced accordingly. Be sure to sign up for their email list. Website isn't the greatest, the catalog is decent.

I just installed their paddle switch yesterday on my router table extension.
